sweet. pretty. easy.

I'm lazy when it comes to my appearance. Makeup is for special events. And hair- well it's a plait or pony, and the fanciest it gets for going out is... straightened. That's my entire repertoire.
Hurumph.
How boring. But really, who has time for getting all prettied up?

(Ok. I know this has nothing to do with the usual themes here...but...stay with me. This has been a real pick-me-up over the last few weeks...so I wanted to share!)

I stumbled upon this great set of tutorials over at Cup of Jo (love that blog name by the way) and have been addicted to doing my hair in these sweet 5min do's. Seriously. 5minutes! I can do 5minutes. And They are effortless, casual, kinda messy styles, so you don't have to do it perfectly. Hurrah! Spend some time checking out Jo's blog, it's got all the style and cool that I wish I had. You'll love it.

chestnut bun. this feels really glamourous and is so quick!

braided crown .my hair isn't quite long enough, but I've created a variation that is quick and easy and just as pretty.
three twisted buns. This is such a summery style. I love it. All the loose bits make it look so soft!
gibson roll done this a few times and I love it!
messy french bun. so easy. so smokin'.

Then I kinda started googling and youtubing and discovered a world of easy fun hair ideas- even I can do them in 3-5mins! Awesome. So now I have a new rule for myself- hair can't be the same two days in a row, and must be something 'pretty' every second day (other days it might be the regular pony. C'mon. I gotta be realistic.) AND my new makeup rule- mascara and lipbalm. Yes. Even lipbalm is a step up for me. Takes 30secs and I feel a mile more presentable.

  1. ah huh! Last weekend I was thinking how pretty your hair looked and that it must have taken you ages, it looked so lovely and really suited you. And now you tell me it only took 5min?
